I added WP Super Cache and Yoast WordPress SEO plugin to the site. Both plugins seem to be doing a great job. I’m getting more hits from search engines and the site is loading much faster.

New virus threatens Android phones

By , January 1, 2011 3:21 pm

Google’s Android OS has a new virus to worry about. This malware dubber “Geinimi” emerged in China and it allow hackers to gain access to the phone and all the personal data on it. This is not the first bit of malware on the Android but a report from Lookout Mobile Security said “This is one of the most sophisticated Android malware we’ve every seen to date.”

“Once the malware is installed on a user’s phone, it has the potential to receive commands from a remote server that allow the owner of that server to control the phone,” Lookout said.
“Geinimi’s author(s) have raised the sophistication bar significantly over and above previously observed Android malware by employing techniques to obfuscate its activities.”

3D Computer Display would be Awesome

By , December 17, 2009 8:30 pm

OK first thing I need to say is watch the whole video first.

Yes that is a real TV and real video on the screen. Now this would be awesome for video games and certain computer programs. I agree with Johnny Lee, we need some game made with this software.

MacRumors.com is reporting that Apple has applied for a patent for 3D computer displays. Back in 1995 Apple built a similar system called Hyper Reality display. The demo is amazing enough now just imagine what it could with a little fine tuning.

UPDATE: You can see more demos of this on Johnny Lee’s Website or @ http://procrastineering.com

This is the next step for Skynet and Terminators

By , October 24, 2009 9:46 am

If I seen this robot walking down the road I would run. This thing is creepy. This is just one step closer to Skynet and Terminators taking over the world. Where is Sarah Connor when you need her? His name is Titan Robot and he was on display at Gitex Exhibition 2009 in Dubai. I wish they would have some of these tech show in Florida.

UPDATE:

You can see more about Titan @ Cyberstein Robots, Wikipedia, and Gulf News.

This is why I think Cloud computing is bad

By , October 11, 2009 4:43 pm

The T-Mobile Sidekick Disaster is why Cloud computing will never work. If you rely on Cloud computing and no local back up this will happen alot. Why would you only rely on that? I know its bad to say this but, if you don’t have a local back up of your data and someone else’s server crashes it’s your fault. Not the provider of the service. They should look at Dropbox. If you want your data any where you go Dropbox is the best answer.

Tracking the International Space Station

By , September 6, 2009 8:56 pm

If you are into Space and things like that you might want to check out Heavens-Above.com. Heavens Above allows you to track the ISS so you can watch it fly over you. You can type in your location using GPS coordinates or use there database of known location.

Typically you can see the ISS for about 5 minutes when it passes over. It looks like a bright star moving slower than a jet does when it flies over you.
