This is why I think Cloud computing is bad

The T-Mobile Sidekick Disaster is why Cloud computing will never work. If you rely on Cloud computing and no local back up this will happen alot. Why would you only rely on that? I know its bad to say this but, if you don’t have a local back up of your data and someone else’s server crashes it’s your fault. Not the provider of the service. They should look at Dropbox. If you want your data any where you go Dropbox is the best answer.

If you are into Space and things like that you might want to check out Heavens-Above.com. Heavens Above allows you to track the ISS so you can watch it fly over you. You can type in your location using GPS coordinates or use there database of known location.

Typically you can see the ISS for about 5 minutes when it passes over. It looks like a bright star moving slower than a jet does when it flies over you.

I don’t care what any one says but I want one. This is the coolest damn thing I think I have every seen. Moé Passion has posted a few pictures of this Life-sized Gundam begin built.

Today was my final day before leaving Japan for ages. Was let off work early to get last minute things done. I decided to make another trip to Odaiba, an over an hour and a half trip from Yokosuka, to check the progress on the life sized RX-78 Gundam from the original Gundam series that I have been covering since May. I just updated on Sunday. Almost didn’t go. I mean, how much progress can they have made in just 2 days?

He has a 2 part story on his blog make sure that you check them out.

US lab debuts super laser

By syclonefx, May 30, 2009 8:49 PM

Breitbart.com posted an article about a “super laser” made by the National Ignition Facility. I think this is the first step to the Death Star.

fusion reaction triggered by the super laser hitting hydrogen atoms will produce more energy than was required to prompt “ignition,” according to NIF director Edward Moses.

“This is the long-sought goal of ‘energy gain’ that has been the goal of fusion researchers for more than half a century,” Moses said.

“NIF’s success will be a scientific breakthrough of historic significance; the first demonstration of fusion ignition in a laboratory setting, duplicating on Earth the processes that power the stars.”
