Space JunkWe are begin invaded!!! Nasa doesn’t know what is going to fly by the Earth on Wednesday, but I think its aliens doing a fly-by. Their just checking us out and getting ready for 2012.

Astronomers say it may be space junk or it could be a tiny asteroid, too small to cause damage even if it hit. It’s 33 to 50 feet wide at most.

The T-Mobile Sidekick Disaster is why Cloud computing will never work. If you rely on Cloud computing and no local back up this will happen alot. Why would you only rely on that? I know its bad to say this but, if you don’t have a local back up of your data and someone else’s server crashes it’s your fault. Not the provider of the service. They should look at Dropbox. If you want your data any where you go Dropbox is the best answer.

University of Florida Planning for a Zombie Attack

I’m glad to see someone is thinking out side of the box and prepping for a Zombie Attack. The University of Florida’s e-Learning Support Service had a disaster recover exercise for a zombie attack. The Zombie Attack Exercise Report was pulled from the website. I downloaded the PDF file before they removed it from the site. Check out the Zombie Attack – Disaster Preparedness Simulation Exercise #5 here.

Swine flu jab link to killer nerve disease

DailyMail.co.uk posted an interesting article about the Swine Flu vaccine. Back in the 70’s the vaccine that they gave people killed 25 people and it increased the risk of contracting Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). GBS is a a brain disorder.

The letter, sent to about 600 neurologists on July 29, is the first sign that there is concern at the highest levels that the vaccine itself could cause serious complications.

It refers to the use of a similar swine flu vaccine in the United States in 1976 when:

  • More people died from the vaccination than from swine flu.
  • 500 cases of GBS were detected.
  • The vaccine may have increased the risk of contracting GBS by eight times.
  • The vaccine was withdrawn after just ten weeks when the link with GBS became clear.
  • The US Government was forced to pay out millions of dollars to those affected.

Concerns have already been raised that the new vaccine has not been sufficiently tested and that the effects, especially on children, are unknown.

It is being developed by pharmaceutical companies and will be given to about 13million people during the first wave of immunisation, expected to start in October.
