Steve Jobs – 1955 – 2011

By , October 5, 2011 9:53 pm

Rest in Peace Steve. We will miss you.

Steve Jobs RIP 1955 - 2011
“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
“Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs
“Stay Hungry… Stay Foolish.” – Steve Jobs

One Bad Apple – MobileMe

By , June 7, 2011 7:01 pm

MobileMe wasn’t one of Apples brightest moments. So yesterday at WWDC Apple introduced iCloud and the end of the MobileMe service. To prep for the transition to the cloud Apple has extended everyones MobileMe account until June 30, 2012 for free, which is pretty cool of Apple to do. Unless you are one of many user like my self that just paid for another year for the MobileMe service. I renewed my MobileMe account on May 25th.

On Apple’s Support forums a lot of people are complaining that Apple has left us out in the cold. Apple isn’t saying anything about this to anyone. If you call support they tell you you can ask for a full refund, but you will lose all your current email addresses and can’t get them back until you sign up for the iCloud service, but you might not be able to get the same addresses when you sign up for the iCloud service. So what am I to do? I don’t want to lose my address, I use it a lot.

Do you think that the people who just renewed have a valid complaint that they paid for a service that everyone is now getting for free or do you think we should stop complaining and deal with it.

I don’t expect a full refund, but I would like some type of response from Apple. Instead of letting people wonder if they are going to do anything for us. I would be happy if Apple would just tell us that “we are S.O.L. and to have a nice day”, at least we would know where we stand.

For more info about the MobileMe transition to iCloud, Apple has a little Knowledge Brief posted on their site.

Programming – Entering in a price of an item – Help

By , February 20, 2011 9:46 pm
I am trying to accomplish the same interface as Grocery iQ has for entering in a price of an item. They have a Table View with a custom Table View Cell. I think the custom cell has a label over a text field so the decimal is always visible. If you type in 125 it displays 1.25 on the screen. Does anybody have any idea how to do this?
One other thing I would like to know when you click on the “back button” the value entered ($1.25) is sent back to a label on the previous view. How do you do this?
Any help on either of these 2 question would be appreciated.
This is what I want it to look like.

MobileMe iCal syncing 403 Error

By , February 18, 2011 10:44 pm

If you use MobileMe and iCal I’m pretty sure you have ran on to the error:

Access to “Event” in “Calendar” in account “MobileMe” is not permitted. The server responded: “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperationMobileMe Sync 403 Error

This is an annoying little error. Right now there is no fix for this problem. The error occurs when you have an event and you set an alarm for the event that is more than 7 days before the event, MM will give you this error when you try to save the event. So the only thing you can do is to set the alarm to go off in 7 days or less. This seems to work but Apple needs to fix this problem.

Safari just sucks

By , November 8, 2010 11:44 pm

Apple keeps blaming Adobe Flash for its problems with Safari. I pretty much use all three major browser daily and Safari is the only browser that crashes daily when going to sites that have Flash. If it was a Flash problem why wouldn’t IE8, IE 9 or Firefox crash on the same sites? So every time Safari crashes I type in a nice little note to Apple in the Crash Report. I just wish they would read them and hit me back with a reply or somethings. So I know they were at least attempting to do something with those crash reports they get back from us. Here is the note I sent them today.

This is like the exa time that safari has crashed while I was checking on my fantasy team on please fix safari. it is worse than internet explorer… do you guys really want any of your product to suck more than a microsoft product? IE doesn’t crash this much. stop blaming flash and just fix safari… I don’t want make firefox my default browser but you are forcing me to do so. when I use firefox and IE they don’t crash when I go to, only safari. I’m not sure if you guys read these but it worth a shot. Plus if you do fix it you’ll stop getting these little stupid notes from me… ****** at

I hope they answer me one day… If you are wondering what an EXA is google it.

Rumors – More iPhone Photos from Gizmodo

By , April 19, 2010 7:29 pm

So it seems that the photos Engadget posted the other day might be the real deal. Gizmodo came across a prototype iPhone that someone lost in a bar in Redwood City California. They posted a couple videos and a ton of pictures on their site.

I think Apple allowed this iPhone to get lost, so they could see peoples reactions about it.

Rumors – More new iPhone Pictures

By , April 18, 2010 5:54 pm

Engadget posted a new article showing the “New” iPhone sitting on a prototype iPad. They have had this photo for months. Their source has confirmed that this picture is the next iPhone and some of the following upgrades. The iPhone in pictures below is the same iPhone in my previous post More iPhone 4 photos – UGLY.

  • higher res screen on-board
  • a front-facing camera
  • a higher resolution camera with flash
  • takes MicroSIM cards

If this is the next iPhone, I think Apple has lost its touch with making beautiful products.
