Apple Releases iPhone 3.2 SDK – No Leopard Build, Only Snow Leopard?

By , April 3, 2010 9:59 pm

I just logged into Apple’s Developer section to download the new iPhone 3.2 SDK and to my surprise there is no build for Leopard, just a build for Snow Leopard. After digging around in the iPhone SDK Release notes I found out that Apple isn’t going to release a build for Leopard.

iPhone SDK 3.2 provides support for developing iPad applications and includes the complete set of Xcode 3.2.2 tools, compilers, and frameworks for creating applications for iPhone OS and Mac OS X. These tools include the Xcode IDE and the Instruments analysis tool among many others.

With this software you can develop applications that run on iPad using the included iPhone Simulator, which runs iPhone OS 3.2. Additionally, you can develop applications for iPhone and iPod touch, which run on iPhone OS 3.1.3. (This software does not include all of the iPhone OS 2.x SDKs.) Installing iPhone SDK 3.2 requires a Macintosh computer running Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) or later.

This means if you want to write apps for the iPad you will need an Intel Mac and Snow Leopard. I would also assume that this means the new iPhone 4.0 SDK will be the same way.

3D Computer Display would be Awesome

By , December 17, 2009 8:30 pm

OK first thing I need to say is watch the whole video first.

Yes that is a real TV and real video on the screen. Now this would be awesome for video games and certain computer programs. I agree with Johnny Lee, we need some game made with this software. is reporting that Apple has applied for a patent for 3D computer displays. Back in 1995 Apple built a similar system called Hyper Reality display. The demo is amazing enough now just imagine what it could with a little fine tuning.

UPDATE: You can see more demos of this on Johnny Lee’s Website or @

Are you having problems updating your iPhone apps?

By , December 15, 2009 9:35 pm

Is the iPhone App Store having update problems? It seems that some people including me are having issues updating there apps either through iTunes or on the iPhone.  Here is the problem: The app downloads and installs on the iphone. Then the app store still shows that you have an app to update. Once you click on the App store it shows you the app you just installed. If you use iTunes the same thing happens, it just downloads and then shows you that you have an app thats need to be updated. If you check the version of the app is it still the old version. It seems that the previous version is being downloaded and installed. This is affecting both Macs and Windows version of iTunes.

There are posts on Apple Discussion forum and MacRumors Forum. If you are having the same problem let me know, either in the comments or on Twitter.

My Computer has a Virus. Wait I have a Mac, never mind.

By , July 18, 2009 1:02 pm

I don’t understand how people can fall for this. I was on my favorite weather site and I got a pop-up from my web browser stating that my computer is infected with a virus. The pop up stated to click OK to scan for viruses. OK people first thing first your web browser isn’t going to tell you that you have a virus. So don’t be fooled by this popup. I thought what the hell I’ll click OK to see what happens. Before I go any further I have a Mac and I’m using Safari as my web browser.

Pop-upAfter I clicked OK I got this window.

Windows Computer
My browser is showing me a Windows machine with a C Drive and a D Drive, a My Documents Folder, and a System Folder. After the scan was complete another window popped up showing me all the viruses I had on my PC. So I clicked the remove all button and 5 files were downloaded to my computer.

  • Setup-4f495e8_02003-1.exe
  • Setup-802_02003-1.exe
  • Setup-ad4d_02003-1.exe
  • Setup-f65_02003-1.exe
  • Setup-fdf2ec_02003-1.exe

OK People like I said before, your web browser will not tell you you have a virus. When this happen close your browser. You might have to open the Task Manager and click end task on your browser. Because the pop-up might try to download the software to your computer anyway. If it downloads the software DON’T INSTALL THAT PROGRAM,Select it and delete it. Once you deleted it empty your Recycling Bin just to make sure that you got rid of that file.

Where Do I Start with iPhone Programming?

By , July 17, 2009 9:38 pm

There are so many websites out there telling you different places to start. This is were I started and were  I am currently with writing my own iPhone App. Its been a long hard process and I had to start at the very beginning. I didn’t know C Programming, which is the basic language you need to know to start writing for the iPhone. The iPhone uses Cocoa Touch and Objective-C programming language, know C programming just makes it easier. On my trip I been reading a few books. Here is a list of books that will help you with your apps.

I still have a long ways to go before any of my apps make it into the iTunes Apps Store. If there are any books or resources that you might think that would help, please let me know.

iPhone App Setting location

By , July 5, 2009 1:33 pm

I’m starting to dislike iPhone apps that put their settings in the setting section of the iPhone. Am I the only one? I hate it when I need to change the settings and I have to leave the app and go to the setting section and then go back and load the app again.

I know it gives you more room for other things on the user interface, but the little exclamation point doesn’t take much room. I know I might change my mind when I start working on my app. I’ll deal with that when the day comes.
