Pictures of the Space Shuttle Launch STS-131

By , April 5, 2010 5:33 pm

I live in Daytona Beach FL and its not too offten that the NASA launches a Space Shuttle at night so when they do I try to get out to watch it. Todays launch is the last night / early morning launch. So I had to try and capture the moment. I’m still learning about my camera but I guess the photos came out OK.

I posted the rest of the pictures I took today onĀ Flickr.

Tracking the International Space Station

If you are into Space and things like that you might want to check out Heavens-Above.com. Heavens Above allows you to track the ISS so you can watch it fly over you. You can type in your location using GPS coordinates or use there database of known location.

Typically you can see the ISS for about 5 minutes when it passes over. It looks like a bright star moving slower than a jet does when it flies over you.
